In 1979 anti fascist campaigner Blair Peach was killed during an anti far right protest in Southall. Many believed his death was a direct result of excessive police brutality-a dark shadow which has loomed over us for some thirty odd years.

Fast forward to 2010, and at the very least many questions regarding the deaths of countless others as a result of police brutality remain unanswered. We do not need to name the victims. We know who they are. Continue reading

A watershed in British politics occurred last night at Westminster Central Hall. Two Shadow Chancellors – George Osborne from the Conservatives and Vince Cable from the Liberal Democrats, along with Labour’s Deputy Leader Harriet Harman gave an unprecedented pitch to convince Black Britain why their party’s would best serve Black communities. Racial Violence – the Buried Issue

The Institute of Race Relations an anti racist think tank has published a report that demonstrates that since the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence on the 22nd April 1993 an average of 5 people a year have been killed as consequence of extreme violent racism.

The report has identified that Muslim taxi drivers are at particular risk in addition to others who work alone at night. What is clear from this report is that there remain areas in the UK that are unsafe for Black Britain’s to either live or work. Continue reading
