  2. I was born in London in the nineteen sixties. I am a Black British Citizen. I am very privileged to have witnessed the wonderful achievements of fellow British born black and minority ethnic citizens in this country to date. I am now in my forties now and have to admit my disapointment at various British Governments over the years continuously letting Black and Minority Ethnic Citizens down. The last thirteen years under a Labour government has been the most appaulling of the lot. It is crass when the generation of my children are voicing the same indignation about racism as their grand parents back in the 1950s and 60s. Ths proves very little has changed. New Labour have been so obsessed with tinkering with the Race Relations Act (1976), thus reintroducing racism back into society, hoping it would keep them in power. Thankfully, we have all witnessed the failure of that attempt. I want to be a part of a United Kingdom that fully accepts that BME citizens are part of this country now and forever. It would be nice if this is reflective in all the polictical parties except the BNP for very obvious reasons. I hope the next government and future governments aims would be to enforce proper equal opportunities at all levels. GOD bless the United Kingdom.
