  1. There is no such thing as an “Ethnic Paygap”. An employment contract is between two people and both have to agree to the Price/Cost for employment.

    There is an overriding trend, within our society, of migrant workers actually accepting less money for a job than their domestic counterpart, partially in order to get a job, but mostly because they are not used to market rates and therefore accept less just because they are used to less money. We should encourage these people to demand more.

    I believe that this is the same for women. Why else would women get paid less just because they are women?

    It is a real problem for everyone who is part of our society (except the few who earn mega-money from it). How, instead of just calling a problem out, do you intend to deal with it?

    I do not believe that blaming most of society is a productive way to deal with financial disparities. Perhaps educating migrant workers and recent citizenship holders into market savviness and confidence is a way to deal with the problem? After all, how can we expect a newly arrived Chinese migrant to have such knowledge reflexes if they come from an entirely different, Communist market system?

    We need to teach all workers the actual value of their work in order for the to achieve self-confidence and realisation of influence held within the market.
