Head of the British National Party Nick Griffin has received another humiliating blow.
This time from the Queen who has withdrawn the standard invitation that his sent out to all MEP’s, on the grounds that he has ‘politicised’ the invitation and has increased ‘security’ problems and upset other guests.
A spokeswoman for the Palace stated:
“Nick Griffin MEP will be denied entry to today’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace due to the fact he has overtly used his personal invitation for Party political purposes through the media,” she said.
“This in turn has increased the security threat and the potential discomfort to the many other guests also attending.”
Earlier this year Griffin’s credibility nose dived as he was resoundly beaten in Barking at the General Election by Labour’s Margaret Hodge. Furthermore, his party was politically wiped out in many areas including their biggest power base, Barking and Dagenham.
In order to avoid an internal coup Griffin announced after the humiliating General and local election defeat that he would stand down as leader in two years time.
With this latest ‘slap in the face’ calls to remove the man, that has brought his Party to political and nearly financial bankruptcy, may come sooner rather than later.
