EVENT: Party Leaders invited to Speak at BME Election Rally

Who will you choose?

The main party leaders have been invited to speak this Wednesday at one of the largest rallies in recent political history, organised by a national black coalition of groups.

Black leaders including church leaders, business leaders, activists, faith groups, Operation Black Vote, The 1990 Trust, Equanomics and many others, will be hosting the largest political rally seen in the UK for a generation.

The event will take place on the 28th April in central London and all the mainstream party political leaders have been invited and are expected to attend. In the run up to the election this event will, for the first time, bring the party political leaders face to face with a huge audience made up of black communities nationwide.

The event is set to be web broadcast over the Internet and in addition to the thousands who will attend be viewed by millions across the country and around the world.

As the black vote in the UK assumes critical importance there are increasing efforts to ‘court’ the black vote. Having strength in numbers in the key marginal constituencies throughout the major metropolitan areas the mainstream parties are desperate to win our votes.

With this election set to be decided by a small majority the fact that over 100 Parliamentary seats can be decided by the power of the black electorate means that our votes are critical to the success of any party seeking to win the election.

This event will make history a week before the election and confirms that the British black communities are finally punching our weight in the political arena
