Rooting out workplace discrimination

lynne-featherstoneMore should be done to close the pay gap between races, says Lib Dem MP Lynne Featherstone

After years of false promises and political point scoring, ethnic minorities are still being paid less then their white counterparts.

What a sad state of affairs.

Even after the Equal Pay Act if I were a Pakistani women I would face a pay gap so large I would earn a huge 26% less then white British males.

The Government has promised tough measures, which are still not working, and Tories have added nothing substantial, which is frankly not a huge surprise.

The Liberal Democrats ‘no names policy’, would identify job applicants by their National Insurance number instead of their name, preventing any unconscious discrimination.

More needs to be done is done to root out discrimination in the workplace only realistic and workable policies can make this happen.
